Pet Orthopaedic Surgery

Orthopaedic surgery refers to surgery on the bones and joints.

When is orthopaedic surgery needed?

Some situations where your pet may require orthopaedic surgery include:

  • fractures of the bones
  • removal of tumours
  • as a treatment for cruciate disease
  • as a treatment for hip dysplasia

Orthopaedic surgery is a stressful time for you and your pet so we try to do our best to make it as smooth and safe as possible.

Please be aware that your pet will need to have their activity restricted for a minimum of 8 weeks after surgery.

Please contact us at Dr Paws Kotara with any queries you may have about what happens on or after surgery day.

We are conveniently located opposite Westfield Kotara - the pawfect location for Newcastle pet parents living in Kotara, Kotara South, Adamstown, New Lambton, Charlestown and surrounding areas!
