Welcome Dr Elaine Zourkas!

We would like to welcome Dr. Elaine Zourkas BVSc (Hons I) to the Dr Paws Lane Cove!

We know that she will fast become a familiar and much-loved member of the team.  Please don’t hesitate to pop into the clinic to say ‘Hello!’

In order to introduce herself a little, Elaine has answered an intense Q & A!

What are your Qualifications

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours Class I)

Years in industry?

I graduated from the University of Sydney in December 2015. I’ve since worked as a veterinarian at a small animal clinic in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, before recently joining the team at Lane Cove Veterinary Hospital.

Saddest aspect about being a vet?

The toughest aspect about being a vet is coming to terms with the fact that, as much as you would like to, you unfortunately cannot save every patient.

Most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is, of course, helping animals. I am grateful to have the opportunity to become a part of my patients’ lives and love being able to help them, and their owners, in a positive way.

What gets you up in the morning?

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet new, friendly, furry faces at work each day. As a veterinarian I’m faced with new challenges daily, which is always exciting, as I never know what each day might have in store for me.

Have you always wanted to be a vet?

Of course! It was my childhood dream to become a veterinarian and I was always happiest when I was spending time around animals.

If you weren’t a vet what would you be?

I could not imagine myself doing anything else!
