Our Team

It goes without saying that we love animals, but we really do take pride in giving the best possible care and attention to you and your pet!

We want to be the best in our fields, and we continue to maintain and expand our knowledge and skills at every opportunity. We also strongly believe in mentoring those new to their field, via traineeships and work experience.

Meet our friendly and professional team:

Dr Annette Kelleher- BVSc (Hons)

I graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1984 and spent my first years as a Vet working in Cranbourne and Bundoora. I ventured overseas for a while and worked in England which was fun, after returning to Melbourne I was lucky to be able to move to North Eastern Victoria and have been working in this area for the last 16 years.

I live in Benalla on a small property with my husband and children, who are now attending University. We have numerous animals including a dog, 3 cats, 2 goats, guinea pigs, chooks, cows and lots of horses.

Our whole family is passionate about horse riding and we all like to compete in competitions around the area, particularly show jumping. We have had quite a few thoroughbred race horses that usually end up as our competition horses after they have finished their racing careers.

I work at the Ovens and Kiewa Vet clinic in Myrtleford on Fridays and mainly work with small animals.

Dr Kate Norman

I graduated from Melbourne University with honours in 2009 and initially helped my father who is also a vet and owns a mixed practice in Alexandra (North East Victoria). In 2010 I moved to the beautiful Yarra Valley and worked at the Wandin Vet clinic for 5 years, then I was off to The Veterinary Surgery in Yarrambat for the following few years to gain more experience in Equine Medicine/Surgery.

I have also worked as a locum Veterinarian all around Australia; from Victorian clinics to Outback NSW and even Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. Since graduating I have been fortunate enough to gain a large amount of experience in many aspects of mixed practice, it has been a huge advantage having so many vets in the family, my sister has recently opened her own Equine Clinic near Benalla.

I started off working as a locum Veterinarian at Ovens & Kiewa Veterinary Hospital in 2016 and have recently moved to the area and started working here full time.

The region is a fantastic area to live as I enjoy so many of the local sports and activities- motorbike riding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, horseriding, fishing and many more. I live with my cat “Grace”, my new puppy “Gary”, two turtles “Patrick” and “Doris” as well as having two thoroughbreds who keep me busy.

I am passionate about all aspects of mixed practice and enjoy the large animal work with all the challenges this provides as well as the small animal surgery and medicine component at our clinic.

Tayla – Vet Nurse

Hi, my name is Tayla and I am one of the Vet Nurse's here at Dr Paws. I have worked at Dr Paws since July 2018 and I have since completed my Certificate IV in veternairy nursing.  For as long as I can remember I have always loved animals. I have lived on a cattle and sheep farm all my life which has led me to persue a career in animal care.

Around the clinic I can be found greeting customers and assisting in their pets admission for  surgical procedures, monitoring their anaesthetic and completing their discharge at the end of the day.
In my spare time I like to walk my dog, travel, eat delicious food and spend time with my family and friends.

Keeley Brown - Vet Nurse

I'm currently working as a Veterinary Nurse in Dr. Paws Wangaratta. I have been nursing on-and -off for 7 years, working in a broad range of clinics from rural practices in regional Victoria and NSW to emergency centres in Melbourne and Albury/Wodonga. I have finished my Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing in 2018 and in 2019 I became a Registered Veterinary Nurse and completed a short course in emergency nursing.

I live in wangaratta with my partner and our 7 year old ragdoll cross cat, Amelia (fatty-moo-moo, princess poo-bum) in my free time I like to travel & watch movies.

Allison - Receptionist

Hi, my name is Allison and I started working at the clinic in early October 2019.  I live in the beautiful King Valley with my family and many pets including a Peacock!

I love everything fluffy and furry and I'm not ashamed to baby talk to every pet that comes through the clinic door.

Shelby – Vet Nurse

Hi, my name is Shelby and I am a Vet Nurse with five years experience. I enjoy the challenge and reward of working with animals and helping create an enjoyable, relaxing experience for animals at the clinic. I have a special interest in dog training and behaviour, and hope to do further training in this area in the future.

I have two dogs, a German Shorthaired Pointer named Louie, and a Great Dane named Duke. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping, cooking, eating and going on adventures with my partner and our two kids.
